How to Get to Heaven

There is only one way a person can get to Heaven.
If you will take a few minutes to read this page, you will learn that way.  If you are unsaved, please read on.

First, you must realize that you are a sinner.

Romans 3:10-12 - As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:  There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.  They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

Romans 3:23 - For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Second, you must understand the penalty for the sins you have committed.

Romans 6:23a - For the wages of sin is death;

The death metioned in Romans 6:23a is twofold.  First of all, it refers to physical death.  Since you are a sinner, you will eventually die.  It is also refering to spiritual death.  In other words, Because you are a sinner, if you die unsaved you will go to hell.  Hell is a place where you will spend all eternity burning while being seperated from God.

Revelation 20:14-15 - And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire.  This is the second death.

Revelation 14:10-11 - . . . and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night . . .

Third, you must believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay the penalty for your sins.

Romans 5:19 - For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

As Romans 5:19 states, because Adam ate of the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, every man is born a sinner.  Because we are all born sinners, we must pay God's price for our sins.

Romans 5:8 - But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 6:23b - but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Because God loves us, he sent his Son Jesus to die on the cross and pay the penalty for our sins in our place.  Jesus was perfect.  He never sinned in His life, and because of this He is the only one who could pay the penalty for our sins.  Because Jesus died on the cross for the sins of the world, anyone may accept His gift of eternal life.

How do you accept Jesus as your Savior?  Read on.  God clearly tells us in His Word what is required for salvation.

Romans 10:9 - That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Romans 10: 13 - For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

If you believe: 1) that you are a sinner, 2) that as a sinner you will die and go to hell, 3) that Jesus came and died on the cross for you sins, all you have to do is pray and ask Jesus into your heart, and you will be saved.  If you would like to ask Jesus into your heart, please bow your head now and pray to ask Him to save you.  If you're not sure what to say, below is a sample prayer you could use, but you do not have to pray exactly those words to be saved.

"Dear Lord Jesus,  I know that I have sinned against You.  I realize that because of my sins, I deserve to die and go to hell.  But I believe that you died on the cross for my sin.  Please forgive me of my sins, and come into my heart to save me.  Amen.

I John 5:13 - These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

If you prayed and asked God to save you, then you are saved for all eternity, and there is nothing that you, or anyone can do to cause you to lose your salvation.  Also, as the verse above says,  you can be 100% sure that you are saved.
